Sharepoint Services

The presentation last night on Sharepoint Web Part Development by Chris Johnson and Chris Rogers was quite good. While I don't have any immediate plans for Sharepoint, just knowing to use SmartParts instead would save me tons of time.

If anyone has any questions for Chris concerning Sharepoint Web Parts, this is the place to ask it.

Re: Sharepoint Services

I wanted to see the slides and demo from the presentation. When will they be posted?

Thanks!

I've always been curious what the difference was between ASP.NET 2.0 webparts and SharePoint web parts. According to this web cast, when SharePoint 3.0 comes out, there will be no difference. SharePoint will use the same development model as ASP.NET 2.0 webparts do currently. Therefore, if you want to get a head start on developing with SharePoint in the future, take a lot at ASP.NET 2.0 webparts NOW!

Given an apprpriate situation I might actually use ASP.NET 2.0 webparts instead fo something like DotNetNuke which is overkill more often than not.
