Hello,
My name is Andy Kuhn and I work for a Company called Kanbay. Kanbay is looking for a .NET Architect that will include some travel. The immediate need is in Southern CA, but we are also looking for someone to join our team at our Chicago Headquarters. I thought you or someone you knew might be interested in the position. Technical Architect Capabilities
Some travel required
Leadership
Demonstrate leadership qualities in educating stakeholders about various architectural alternatives; mentor others; develop and form strong teams.
Effective in building mutual partnerships and relationships with in customer organizations.
Able to effectively facilitate meetings
Technology Depth
Deep understanding of the concepts and application of at least two core technologies .Net, COM+, J2EE
Implementation frameworks, blueprints, patterns, Microsoft prescriptive architectures, Architectural design patterns
Application Development knowledge of .NET (C#) or VB.Net to create large scale OLTP systems.
RDBMS – Extensive knowledge of development SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005.
Data Warehousing –knowledge of ETL, OLAP, or Reporting solutions such as SQL Server DTS, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services.
Enterprise Application Integration/Enterprise Service Bus – knowledge of traditional EAI products such as BizTalk 2004 and Other Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) like MQ Integrators, SeeBeyond etc.
Portal frameworks – evidenced by knowledge of Sharepoint Server, Content Management Server, InfoPath
Technology solutioning capabilities
Apply architectural and engineering concepts (scalable, maintainable, securable, reliable, extensible, flexible, available, manageable)
Able to abstract solutions and separate the concerns
Understand or evaluate the capabilities and constraints of the infrastructure
Champion the structure, process, best practices and standards
Demonstrate broad development skills and quickly learn new concepts and gain expertise
Gather and analyze requirements (technical, business)
Envision and create an infrastructure that can be implemented, and that meets requirements
Prototype and prove the feasibility of the design
Create the design artifacts that are required to deliver and to maintain the infrastructure; oversee infrastructure setup to completion
Refine the model as requirements change, implementation how various choices play out.
Strategy
Understanding of enterprise architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and operational frameworks such as ITIL
Understand business strategy, economic dimension of projects, costs influence on technology, project execution principals
Industry specific knowledge (e.g. HIPAA, ACORD, SOX)
Ability to create and assist solution road map
Recognize industry trends
Know the product roadmap for Microsoft and other relevant vendors
Determine vendor pricing impact on solutions
Organization Dynamics
Ability to recognize the key stakeholders and understand the political landscape
Be comfortable with compromise and conflict
